An unusual update from Zoho Writer: a built-in SEO Analysis! Zoho Writer, a popular online (and offline, too—you can download a Zoho Writer desktop app) text processor, has recently introduced a unique feature that allows users to analyze the SEO performance of their texts directly within the editor. I did not see it in any other online word processors, such as Google Docs. There is a myriad of specialized SEO content editors (a very niche type of tools) like NeuralTexts, Surfer, Semrush, and many others, so Legion is their name. In-editor AI bells and whistles is not something to be in awe about in 2025; yet, to our best knowledge, Zoho Writer became the first “civilian” word processor with the built-in SEO text editor functionality.
The SEO text editing feature, powered by Zia, Zoho’s own intelligent writing assistant, enables writers to refine their SEO-optimized content as they write. As a Zoho Partner, we’re somewhat well-versed in SEO due to our own website and our customers’ projects, and we use Zoho Writer on a daily basis, so this update caught our attention immediately. The built-in SEO analysis capabilities supposedly allow users to identify areas for improvement and make necessary corrections without leaving the editor… and it does!
However, it works quite differently from the familiar RankMath keyword analysis engine, though. In RankMath, its engine provides the density of a specific keyword (which they call a “Focus Keyword“). Zoho Writer and its Zia, on the contrary, extract and define multiple keywords from the text based on their frequency and calculate the keyword density based on that extraction. Have a look:

The Practicality
It’s interesting… and useful, if you are a Zoho Writer user and want your content to be more or less SEO-optimized.
Of course, there is more on the table. There are informational, navigational, commercial, transactional, long-tail, and other types of keywords. Zoho Writer doesn’t take them into account. The Writer’s tool is a pure internal text analyzer; it is not a full-scale SEO tool and is not intended to replace one.
However, we applaud Zoho for adding a nice, niche feature to the already feature-rich text processor. So it’s a fair 4/5.
