All Zoho CRM users have already seen this pop-up:
Starting December 1, 2023, Zoho CRM is getting rid of the Activities module. But don’t worry, you can still see and work with your Activity records through the existing individual modules—Tasks, Meetings, and Calls. These modules are useful in giving a complete perspective of the respective sales activities that are performed for a prospect.
TL;DR: you won’t lose your Activity records; you do not have to migrate any data. However, you might need to recreate some of your Dashboards and/or Reports if they were made with the Activity module entities.Â
The Activities tab has typically been a central module to house your tasks, meetings, and calls in a consolidated manner. But Zoho CRM hasn’t been able to optimize it greatly, while it still remains a single tab. With the Tasks, Meetings, and Calls as three independent modules, there is a greater scope for introducing improvements and better performance optimization. You can also have dedicated management of sales activities, and hence this move.
You won’t lose your Activity records. Your Tasks, Meetings, and Calls from the Activities tab are already available under the individual modules — Tasks, Meetings, and Calls, respectively. This behavior has already been handled when the Activity module branched out into Tasks, Meetings, and Calls. Therefore, there will be no loss of data, and you don’t need to migrate records manually.
In conclusion, Zoho CRM’s decision to retire the Activities tab is a call made to primarily enhance Zoho CRM’s performance and also to help users organize their sales activities in three separate dedicated modules—Tasks, Meetings, and Calls. This change has been designed with careful consideration to suit users’ needs better and provide a more tailored approach to managing their sales tasks.
